Community activities, recreation and facilities that contribute to the quality of life here
in Los Caminitos
The Homeowners Association levies an assessment each year (currently $3,000 per lot) to support the various programs, activities and facilities within Los Caminitos. The annual budget, which is approved by the membership at our Annual Meetings, is allocated to road maintenance and repair, ongoing upkeep of the entrance and the centrally-located clubhouse with swimming pool and tennis courts and a fund for future upkeep and replacement of community owned assets.
A recent (2018) infrastructure improvement was to bury a Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) distribution system in all of the subdivision roads to facilitate modern 50 Mbps, or better, internet connectivity.
The clubhouse offers password-protected wi-fi as part of our community internet grid, and is used for Board of Directors, committee and community meetings, and for neighborhood parties. Three social get-togethers are usually held here each year while the pool is open (spring, summer and fall). In addition, the association traditionally hosts a member "mixer" at a volunteer's home on the evening before our Annual Meeting in August.
Members also can reserve these facilities for private events, except on the major holiday weekends.
Another great amenity is our 573-acre Los Caminitos Wilderness Area, which encompasses miles of trails, and connects with more than a million acres within the Española and Las Vegas-Pecos Ranger Districts of the National Forest. Although there are none stabled within the subdivision at present, horses are allowed on the largest lots (74A, B, C & D and 75) located in Phase III of the development.
A group of Los Caminitos residents have marked and mapped the local trails, and often sponsor weekly 5-10 mile hikes elsewhere in Santa Fe County for those interested. Some of these same outdoors enthusiasts lead the "Fair Weather Ski Club" to area resorts during the winter months.
